Advance the Vote
P.U.A.D. Mobile Board Members escort high school students to Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. Here students will learn how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (gave the order to march) along with Hosea Williams, the Southern Christian Council and John Lewis, to uniting people in the protest to advance voting rights.
People United to Advance the Dream Mobile, Inc., was created to serve the residents in the county of Mobile, Alabama and surrounding areas. By advocating for productive workplaces by diversity, equity and inclusion policies. Hosting webinars and in-person professional development classes on financial education. Providing laptops to single parents to complete their education that are registered with the Alabama Career Center. Empowering high school and middle school students with the knowledge of Power of the Vote, through our longest running program the, "Advance the Vote Tour" to Selma, Alabama. The Advance the Vote Tour provides a first hand experience for students to learn about Civil Rights and the obstacles were overcame for the right to vote, which still needs to be protected today. We encourage everyone regardless of race to attend this tour, benefits include team building skills, and bridging gaps in unconscious biases.
